Halloween themed energy saving posters
We’re more likely to notice something if we think it’s fun. Along with capitalising on seasonal events, this was behind the thinking of Dublin’s Energy Agency, Codema, when it developed its Halloween Poster Pun series, as part of its Think Energy campaign. Released in Civic Offices in the run up to the spooky season, the posters used well-known scary movies to create energy-saving puns and encourage staff to switch off when leaving the office, with titles like The Dare Switch Project; Carrie on Saving Energy; and Stop The Shining. Staff were also directed to ‘haunting climate change facts’ on the Think Energy Online Hub. The posters took advantage of the Halloween theme to send a seasonal energy-saving message and add some fun to the campaign. The Codema team have also extended the concept to posters themed on well-known book titles for energy saving in libraries.
